The IRS has released a newly designed 2020 W-4.

  • All new personnel entered in to Staffing Complete after 1/1/2020, are required to use the newly designed 2020 W-4 format.

  • All existing personnel are not required to complete a new 2020 W-4. Staffing Complete, will continue to compute withholding based on the information from the personnel's most recently furnished Form W-4.

  • All existing personnel that would like to change their withhold are required to use the redesigned 2020 W-4.

New Personnel (After 1/1/20)

Effective 1/1/2020 all new personnel are required to complete the new 2020 W-4. The software will default any new personnel entered into Staffing Complete to the 2020 style of W-4.

  1. Navigate to the Personnel module

  2. Click insert

  3. Enter information in all required fields

  4. Click Save

Existing Personnel (Before 12/31/19)

Staffing Complete, will continue to compute withholding based on the information from the personnel's most recently furnished Form W-4. No action is required for these personnel.

Existing Personnel (Before 12/31/19) - Change in withholding

According to the IRS Website, if an existing personnel would like to adjust their withholding after 1/1/2020, they must use the redesigned form. If this occurs, changes will need to be made in the personnel module.

  1. Navigate to the Personnel module

  2. Find the desired personnel by using the find it

  3. Navigate to the W-4 filing fields

  4. Click on the Use 2020 W4 button

  5. A confirmation box will appear to confirm yu would like to make this change

  6. Click yes on the confirmation box

  7. The new 2020 W4 fields have now appeared

  8. Enter information in all required fields

  9. Click Save
