How To: Link Employees, Consumers, and Service Codes

In order for employees and consumers to be added to a payroll batch in the Payroll Module, the relationship between the employee, consumer, and typically the service code must be established. This article will assume that the items to be linked already exist, and will walk you through the process. Should you need to create the items mentioned in this article and aren’t familiar with the process, review the Employee, Consumer, and Management wiki entries for more information.

The first step is to add an existing service code to the consumer within the consumer module. This is done by navigating to the consumers “Service Code” tab, clicking “Insert” at the top which will insert a row in the main window. Next, select the service code from the drop down menu (this pulls from the the Management module> Codes tab). Once the selection is done click save.

Next, you’ll need to add an existing employee to the consumer within the consumer module. This is done on the consumer “Employees” tab, clicking “Insert” at the top which will insert a row in the main window. Next, select the employee from the drop down menu (this pulls from the the Employee module). Once the selection is done click save.

With the service code and employee both linked to the consumer, you can now pair the employee and service code together which is done on the “Employees” tab in the consumer module. First highlight the employee in the upper area, then right click in the lower area and click “add”.

This will add an entry for you to select the service code. Enter a start and end date, then click save.

At this point you can add any of the service codes under the consumers “Service Codes” tab to any employees on the consumers “Employee” tab as needed.
